All of the hard work, tears and drama of a long season of battling to be the best on The Voice season 3 came to an end tonight. Every great performance and epic failure was weighed and balanced by America to determine who would be The Voice season 3 winner. No matter how many fan polls and bloggers tried to predict who won The Voice 2012 season 3 in advance, the outcome could never really be known for sure until the votes were officially announced.
Cassadee Pope of Team Blake Shelton may have been the top ranked singer of the season on iTunes, but there was always the chance her popularity was not as overwhelming as it seemed on the surface. Fans of Nicholas David of Team Cee Lo Green overwhelmingly believed he was the true artist in the final three contestants, but the most talented musician or best singer doesn’t always win. Terry McDermott, also on Team Blake, might have the most heart-warming back story of the top three, but his heart of gold and rock star style might have been less impressive than Cassadee Pope’s polished stage presence.
When all the votes are counted and the person who won The Voice season 3 is finally determined, it is difficult to know exactly why there were judged to be worthy of winning when the other two finalists were not. All that matters is who picked up their phones or logged on to their computer to vote. Whichever finalist managed to convince the most voters to send in the highest number of votes was going to be The Voice winner for season 3, no matter why exactly those voters chose them.
